Insomniac's Recent Job Listing Hints at Early Development of Marvel's Spider-Man 3

A newly surfaced job posting at Insomniac Games suggests the early stages of production for Marvel's Spider-Man 3. This follows the immense critical and commercial success of previous Spider-Man titles from Insomniac, and the numerous plot threads left open in 2023's Spider-Man 2. While Insomniac has confirmed Spider-Man 3's development, details remain scarce.

Speculation surrounding Spider-Man 3 intensified after a data breach revealed a list of upcoming Insomniac projects. Leaks hinted at new character introductions, though a release date is likely years away.

A job posting for a Senior UX Researcher, however, points towards active development. The listing specifies work on a AAA title already in early production, requiring a three-month stint at Insomniac's Burbank UX Lab.

Considering past leaks, Marvel's Spider-Man 3 is the most likely candidate. Marvel's Wolverine, another Insomniac project, is reportedly progressing smoothly, despite minor setbacks. Rumors of a Venom-centric Spider-Man 2 spin-off, potentially releasing this year, seem less likely to be in such early development.

This leaves either Spider-Man 3 or a new Ratchet and Clank game (rumored for 2029) as the project in question. Given Insomniac's current focus on its Marvel properties, Spider-Man 3 appears the more probable choice, though confirmation is still pending. Regardless, the existence of a new Insomniac game in early production is exciting news for PlayStation enthusiasts.
