Indus picks up five million downloads and concludes first international playtest in Manila

by Natalie Feb 12,2025

Indus, the Indian-made battle royale shooter, surpasses five million Android downloads and 100,000 iOS downloads within two months of its launch. This follows its success at the Google Play Awards, where it was recognized as the Best Made in India Game of 2024, and a successful international playtest in Manila.

This significant achievement propels Indus forward in SuperGaming's vision to establish it as a leading Indian gaming title, rivaling competitors such as FAU-G: Domination. The Manila YGG Play Summit playtest provided valuable feedback from international esports players.

Further solidifying its esports ambitions, SuperGaming launched the Clutch India Movement, culminating in the Indus International Tournament. This tournament, running from October 2024 to February 2025, boasts a substantial INR 2.5 crore (approximately $31,000 USD) prize pool.

Impressive Growth, Future Potential

While the five million downloads fall slightly short of the ten million pre-registrations, it's important to note that pre-registrations don't always translate directly to downloads. The lower iOS download numbers also suggest a need for further market penetration in that segment.

Despite this, the rapid progression with international playtests and the ambitious esports tournament demonstrates SuperGaming's significant aspirations for Indus's future growth.
