Honkai: Star Rail Leak Reveals Free 4-Star Character Selector for Version 3.1

Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 Leak: Free 4-Star Character Selector on the Horizon

A recent leak suggests Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 will include a free 4-star character selector, potentially as part of a limited-time event. This selector would allow players to choose from Qingque, Pela, Serval, or Asta.

This news comes amidst a trend of increased 5-star character releases, leaving some 4-star units less relevant in the current meta. While some 4-stars, like Moze and Gallagher, have gained popularity, many require significant Eidolon investment to reach their full potential. Previous free character selectors in Versions 2.1 and 2.7 helped players acquire these crucial Eidolons.

The leaked selector features characters from the game's initial 1.0 cycle, including Asta, a character readily available early in the game. This leak further supports rumors suggesting a potential slowdown in 4-star character additions, with upcoming releases possibly focusing solely on 5-star units. The upcoming Amphoreus update is expected to introduce eight new 5-star characters, along with two more potentially from the Honkai: Star Rail and Fate/Stay Night crossover.

The 2.0 cycle only added four new 4-star characters (including March 7th's alternate form), raising concerns about future 4-star character selector content. However, Version 3.0's highly anticipated additions of The Herta and Aglaea offer plenty of exciting new content to look forward to. Players can also take advantage of recently released redeem codes for Stellar Jades and materials to prepare for upcoming banners.

Character Selector Options:

  • Qingque: Quantum, Erudition
  • Pela: Ice, Nihility
  • Serval: Lightning, Erudition
  • Asta: Fire, Harmony

While Pela and Asta remain viable support options, Qingque and Serval have been outclassed by newer DPS characters. It's also worth noting that all four characters are available for purchase in the in-game store. The significant disparity between the number of 5-star (nearly 40) and 4-star characters highlights the ongoing shift in character releases.
