How to Find the Hill Troll in Rune Slayer
When you're nearing the maximum level in *Rune Slayer*, tackling the Hill Troll becomes an essential part of your journey. Not only does it offer substantial XP, but it's also a prime spot for early endgame loot. The challenge, however, lies in locating this formidable creature. This guide will provide you with detailed instructions on **how to find the Hill Troll in *Rune Slayer***.
Hill Troll Location in Rune Slayer
**The Hill Troll is concealed within a cave on the mountainside in Bahlgar.** To reach it, the most straightforward route is via the elevator in Lakeshire. Descend to Bahlgar as you would to engage Beastmen, but instead of jumping into their area, stick close to the mountain wall and proceed around it. Continue past **two platinum deposits** and keep an eye out for an opening on **one of the sides of the mountain**. This is the entrance to the Troll's cave. To access it, you'll need to jump into this opening, preferably **on a mount**. While it may seem tricky at first, once you've done it, returning to the cave will become second nature. Hill Troll – Strategy, Loot, and Quest
Despite its menacing appearance, the Hill Troll is considered **one of the easier mini-bosses** in *Rune Slayer*. You'll likely need to confront it multiple times, so familiarizing yourself with its attack patterns is beneficial.

**Avoid fighting the Hill Troll alone**. Its attacks, though slow and powerful, are predictable and can be dodged. It's advisable to join a group (at least one other player) as many enjoy farming the Troll. After defeating it, the Troll respawns in just **90 seconds**.
The Hill Troll uses a giant pillar for its attacks. While you can parry and block most of them, be cautious when it raises the pillar overhead with both hands; this move stuns, so you should run. With sufficient damage, you can stagger the Troll, and if you're playing as a **Warrior Class**, a well-timed Counter can stun it.
While the Hill Troll might drop rare equipment, focus on farming **Troll Hides and Troll Heads**. Troll Hides are crucial for **crafting solid endgame gear**, which, though not the best, will prepare you for tougher challenges like the Mother Spider.

**The Troll Head is a Quest item** for the repeatable **Hodor Quest**. You can hand it over to Hodor, who is near the cave, every hour for a chance at random, potentially overpowered loot.
Can You Tame the Hill Troll in Rune Slayer?
**No, you cannot tame the Hill Troll** in *Rune Slayer*, even if you're a Beast Tamer Archer. As a mini-boss, it's too large and cumbersome to serve as a pet. Moreover, it's doubtful the Troll could even leave its cave. If you're a Beast Tamer, stick with the reliable Mud Crab.
**That's all you need to know. Enjoy battling the Hill Troll repeatedly, and we hope you secure some excellent loot. For more endgame assistance, don't forget to check out our Essential *Rune Slayer* End Game Tips.**
