Leslie Benzies, the renowned former lead game designer behind iconic titles like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is gearing up to launch his latest project, MindsEye. This much-anticipated game received a fresh showcase during the PlayStation State of Play, giving fans a glimpse into its world.

The newly released trailer for MindsEye unveils a high-tech spy thriller that echoes elements reminiscent of Grand Theft Auto. The gameplay features third-person shooting, cinematic sequences, and dynamic drive-and-shoot action, all of which you can experience in the captivating cinematic trailer below.

According to the official press release, MindsEye centers on the protagonist Jacob Diaz, who is fitted with a neural implant known as the MindsEye. This device has tampered with his memory, leaving him with fragmented flashbacks from his military service. Driven by a quest to uncover the truth about his past, Jacob embarks on a mission that pits him against an AI-powered military force determined to thwart his efforts.

MindsEye has been in development for several years, following Benzies' departure from Rockstar Games to establish his new studio, Build a Rocket Boy. In collaboration with the developers of Hitman, IO Interactive, MindsEye is set to be a AAA action-adventure game. Alongside the game, Benzies plans to introduce the Everywhere platform, which has been likened to a "big budget Roblox" after a visit to their studio in 2024.

While the new trailer did not mention Everywhere, MindsEye itself promises to be an exhilarating new addition to the action genre, crafted by one of its leading figures. The game is slated for release in the summer of 2025.
