GTA Exits Netflix Games Streaming Platform

Big news for Netflix Games subscribers who enjoy Grand Theft Auto! GTA III and GTA Vice City are leaving the Netflix Games platform next month.

Why the Departure? License Expiration!

This isn't a surprise move. Netflix licenses games similarly to films and shows, and the licenses for these two GTA titles are expiring. You'll see a "Leaving Soon" tag on the games before they're gone.

GTA III and Vice City were added to Netflix Games exactly one year ago, reflecting a 12-month licensing agreement with Rockstar Games. After December 13th, these games will be unavailable to Netflix subscribers. So, if you're currently immersed in the action of Liberty City or the vibrant streets of Vice City, it's time to finish up! (Don't worry, San Andreas remains available for now.)

What's Next? Purchase Them!

If you haven't completed these classic titles, you can purchase them from the Google Play Store. The Definitive Editions of Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City are available individually for $4.99 each, or you can grab the entire trilogy for $11.99.

Unlike the sudden removal of some games in the past, Netflix is providing advance notice of GTA III and Vice City's departure. This is noteworthy, especially considering the significant subscriber growth Netflix experienced in 2023 partly due to the GTA trilogy.

There are even rumors of a future collaboration between Rockstar and Netflix, potentially bringing remastered versions of Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and even Chinatown Wars to the platform. Fingers crossed!
