Godzilla vs. Spider-Man Pits Peter Parker Against Japan's Greatest Monster

This thrilling encounter follows the previously released Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 and Godzilla vs. Hulk #1. This new installment is a nostalgic trip back to a bygone era, specifically the post-Secret Wars period of 1984. Peter Parker, still adjusting to the alien symbiote, will face his toughest challenge yet: the King of the Monsters himself!

Joe Kelly, the writer behind Marvel's upcoming Amazing Spider-Man relaunch, pens this explosive story. The art is brought to life by Nick Bradshaw (known for his work on Wolverine and the X-Men), with cover art contributions from Bradshaw, Lee Garbett, and Greg Land.

"The moment I heard about an '80s-set Godzilla/Spidey crossover, I practically jumped across the table to claim it," Kelly shared with IGN. "This comic is a chance to go all-out with two legendary characters, capturing the chaotic energy of my Spider-Man collecting days. Nick Bradshaw perfectly captures the absurdity, while giving Godzilla and Spidey (in his totally-normal-black-suit!) the gravitas they deserve. It's a love letter delivered with an earth-shattering roar!"

This isn't the first time Godzilla has tangled with Western superheroes. DC Comics' Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong (with a sequel in the works) featured the MonsterVerse versions, but Marvel's series showcases the classic Toho Godzilla.

This announcement follows the unveiling of IDW's Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, a charitable anthology supporting wildfire relief efforts.
