Godzilla's rampage shifts from Tokyo to the United States in IDW Publishing and Toho's new series, Godzilla vs. America. Following the Chicago installment, April 2025 will see the release of Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, a four-story anthology depicting Godzilla's attack on the City of Angels.

The creative team boasts notable names including Gabriel Hardman, J. Gonzo, Dave Baker, and Nicole Goux. The comic features Godzilla battling unique Los Angeles-themed adversaries, showcasing the city's spirit and resilience.

Acknowledging the sensitive timing given recent devastating wildfires in the Los Angeles area, IDW has pledged to donate all proceeds from Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1 to the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (Binc), supporting bookstores and comic shops impacted by the fires. The publisher released a statement emphasizing their commitment to community support and clarifying that the comic's theme, while coincidentally mirroring current events, is intended as a broader exploration of humanity's response to catastrophic events.

Associate editor Nicolas Niño shared his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the collaboration with Los Angeles-based artists and the unique scenarios depicted in the comic, emphasizing the theme of Angelenos uniting against an overwhelming force.

Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1 will be available April 30, 2025, with final orders due March 24. For further updates on upcoming comics, explore previews of Marvel and DC's 2025 releases.
