For newcomers, Uma Musume Pretty Derby is part of a larger multimedia franchise, including anime and manga, that's gained a huge following. The game, originally released in Japan and Asia in February 2021 for Android and iOS, features horse girls—racehorses reincarnated as girls—competing in the "Twinkle Series," a national sports entertainment show.
