Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack adds two classic F-Zero GBA racing games!

Get ready to experience high-speed futuristic racing with the addition of F-Zero Climax and F-Zero: GP Legend to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, launching October 11, 2024!

Nintendo's acclaimed F-Zero franchise, known for pushing the boundaries of console technology since its 1990 debut, is bringing its signature blend of breakneck speed and intense competition to the Switch. The series, a critical darling, has influenced other racing franchises like SEGA's Daytona USA. F-Zero's gameplay, similar to Mario Kart, challenges players to navigate treacherous tracks, outmaneuver opponents, and cross the finish line first in their powerful "F-Zero machines." The iconic Captain Falcon, the series' protagonist, even makes appearances in Super Smash Bros.

F-Zero: GP Legend, initially released in Japan in 2003 and later in the West in 2004, joins the lineup alongside the previously Japan-exclusive F-Zero Climax, which debuted in 2004. F-Zero Climax marks the last entry in the main series before the release of the Switch's F-Zero 99 last year, a significant gap of nearly two decades. In a past interview, F-Zero designer Takaya Imamura cited the immense popularity of Nintendo's Mario Kart franchise as a contributing factor to the series' prolonged hiatus.

This October 2024 update to the Switch Online + Expansion Pack offers subscribers access to both titles, allowing them to compete in various modes including Grand Prix, story-driven campaigns, and time trials.
