Future Marvel Rivals Seasons Will Feature Half the Content of Season 1

by Audrey Feb 12,2025

Marvel Rivals Season 1: A Double-Sized Debut

Get ready for a massive start to Marvel Rivals! Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, boasts double the content of a typical season. This unprecedented expansion is due to the developers' decision to introduce the Fantastic Four as a unified group, resulting in a richer and more extensive gameplay experience.

Expect three new maps based on iconic New York City locations:

  • Sanctum Sanctorum: Launching alongside Season 1, this map sets the stage for the new Doom Match game mode.
  • Midtown: Prepare for intense Convoy missions through the bustling city streets.
  • Central Park: Details remain scarce, but more information is promised closer to the mid-season update.

The initial wave of Fantastic Four additions includes Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist). The Thing and Human Torch are slated to arrive approximately six to seven weeks later in the mid-season update.

While the extended Season 1 is a welcome surprise, the absence of Blade has disappointed some fans. However, the sheer volume of new content, including the expanded roster and maps, keeps anticipation high for the future of Marvel Rivals. The developers haven't commented on how this oversized season will affect the release cadence of future content, but for now, the expectation remains two new heroes or villains per season. The future of Marvel Rivals is looking bright, filled with exciting possibilities.
