Frike Is a Simple Casual Arcade Game with a Geometric Twist, Out Now on Android

Some videogames are adrenaline rushes, designed to spike your heart rate and get your blood pumping. Others offer a tranquil escape, a pathway to meditative calm. Frike, the debut Android game from indie developer chakahacka, surprisingly manages to be both.

The objective in Frike is simple: survival. You control a floating triangle, neatly divided into purple, orange, and green sections. Two buttons on the left control ascent and descent, while a right-side button rotates your triangular protagonist.

While Frike boasts only one level, "small" is hardly the word. This single level is infinite; you'll never reach an end.

Frike's moody, abstract world is populated by blocks in various colors: white, purple, orange, and green. Scoring points requires precise rotation of your triangle, aligning its corners with matching colored squares.

Colliding with too many mismatched or white squares results in a fiery explosion. However, some squares offer helpful bonus effects, temporarily slowing your descent to allow for more precise maneuvering.

Frike perfectly embodies the minimalist arcade casual game. While high-score chasers will find it challenging, it also offers a relaxing experience for those seeking a more laid-back approach, allowing players to simply navigate the obstacles and appreciate the visuals.

Beyond its understated graphics, Frike features a meditative soundtrack of echoing chimes and metallic tinkles.

If this sounds appealing, download Frike for free today from the Google Play Store.
