Get Free Dogwood Village Bow Early in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Combat plays a central role in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, and having better weapons can significantly enhance your gameplay. After the prologue, Henry finds himself without any weapons, but there's an easy way to arm yourself early on with the Dogwood Village Bow, which you can obtain for free.

After parting ways with Hans, your next goal is to find a way into the wedding. You have the option to take up a job with either a blacksmith or a miller, which can earn you an invitation. Even if you're not interested in the blacksmith job, the map marker for it guides you directly to the location where you can pick up the Dogwood Village Bow. If you choose to pursue the blacksmith job to attend Semine's wedding, you'll also want to know about acquiring the hermit's sword later on.
The blacksmith job is located in Tachov, north of Troskowitz, where the prologue concludes and the world opens up. To reach the bow, follow the road west out of Troskowitz, then continue as it curves north. At a junction where a small road branches west and the main road splits, turn right towards a cluster of trees that might be easy to overlook. Hidden among these trees is a small training area.

Within this cluster, you'll find a target with arrows embedded in it. Collect these arrows for free ammunition, then move to the right side of the tree to find the Dogwood Village Bow leaning against the trunk. Don't miss the opportunity to grab some brew from the nearby stump and pick mushrooms in the area. Once you've gathered what you need, you can proceed with your current quest.

Other Ways to Get the Dogwood Village Bow in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
While it's possible to purchase the Dogwood Village Bow from Huntsman's Son Vitek in Tachov, it's not the most powerful ranged weapon available, and the cost may not be worth it when the free version is so accessible. Instead, head straight to the free bow if you're in need of a ranged option. Vitek also sells other, more effective weapons, and you can earn money through alchemy by collecting herbs and brewing potions to sell.
Having a ranged weapon can make combat in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* much more manageable, especially since difficulty settings cannot be adjusted. The combat system remains similar to the first game, and while melee combat may not appeal to everyone, ranged options offer a valuable alternative. I personally find ranged weapons essential for my playstyle.
If you decide to continue to Tachov to work as a blacksmith, you can sleep and save after demonstrating your sword-forging skills. Alternatively, proceed to the miller to advance the main quest. Equipped with a ranged weapon, you'll find combat in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* significantly easier.
And that's how you can secure the free Dogwood Village Bow early in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
