"FBC: Firebreak Release Date Announced - Remedy's Co-Op FPS in Control Universe"

by Henry Jun 04,2025

Remedy Entertainment has officially announced June 17, 2025, as the release date for FBC: Firebreak. This highly anticipated title is set within the expansive universe of Control, offering a session-based multiplayer PvE experience designed to keep players engaged with its diverse challenges and objectives.

Set to launch on PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99, FBC: Firebreak will also be available on day one through PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium tiers). As Remedy’s first self-published project, the game marks a significant milestone for the studio.

In addition to the base game, Remedy introduced the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, priced at $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. This premium version includes exclusive cosmetics, premium voice packs, and additional in-game items. Existing owners of the base game can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for $10 / €10 / £7.

The Deluxe Edition features:

  • "The Firestarter" Premium Voice Pack
  • "The Pencil Pusher" Premium Voice Pack
  • Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
  • Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
  • Golden Firebreak Spray
  • Classified Requisition: "Firestarter" – A collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items, including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets

According to the official announcement, FBC: Firebreak introduces a novel system called Requisitions, which rewards players with new gear and cosmetics simply by playing the game. These Requisitions include weapons, equipment, armor, sprays, and more, all unlocked using in-game currency earned through gameplay. Unlike traditional seasonal events, these items remain consistently available, ensuring no limited-time offers or rotating stores.

For those seeking even greater customization options, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items such as armor sets, custom voice packs, sprays, and weapon skins. Purchased with real money, these items are purely aesthetic and carry no gameplay advantages. They will remain permanently available in the game.

Remedy also emphasized its commitment to ongoing post-launch support, promising two new Jobs (missions) in 2025 and further updates in 2026. All future playable content, including Jobs, will be free for all players, while cosmetics will remain optional purchases without affecting gameplay mechanics.

This announcement arrives during a bustling period for Remedy, as the studio works simultaneously on Control 2 and the remastered compilation of Max Payne and Max Payne 2. Fans can look forward to a thrilling lineup of games from the renowned developer.
