Fake Elden Ring Nightreign Test Invitations Circulated by Scammers

by Christopher Apr 22,2025

Bandai Namco has started sending out emails to verify participation in the closed testing of Elden Ring: Nightreign, scheduled from February 14 to 17, 2025. Selected players will have the privilege of being among the first to experience the game, which is designed to support three-person cooperative play, as detailed in the correspondence.

Given the high anticipation surrounding Nightreign, there's a surge in fraudulent activities. Scammers are circulating fake testing invitations, designed to mimic official Bandai Namco notifications. These deceptive emails often contain links to counterfeit websites that resemble Steam. Unsuspecting players who click these links and attempt to log in may lose access to their accounts. In some instances, players have even received similar fraudulent messages from what appear to be their friends' accounts. Thankfully, some victims have successfully regained access to their accounts by reaching out to Steam support.

It's crucial to exercise caution with any links you receive and to always verify the authenticity of the sender. When in doubt, stick to official channels and avoid clicking on questionable links.

In related news, Elden Ring: Nightreign will not feature the messaging system found in other FromSoftware titles. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained in an interview that due to the game's session length, which is approximately forty minutes, there simply isn't enough time for players to engage in leaving or checking messages during gameplay. As a result, the decision was made to disable this feature entirely for Nightreign.
