In The Exit 8, you find yourself navigating through an endless underground passage reminiscent of a Japanese metro station. The environment traps you in a loop where the tiles, lights, posters, and even the solitary man walking towards you are incessantly repetitive.

The challenge lies in identifying anomalies. You might notice a poster with a different graphic, lights flickering more than usual, or something as stark as a river of blood where the floor should be. The core mechanic of the game revolves around detecting these subtle changes and responding swiftly.

If you spot something unusual, you must turn back. If you don't, you continue moving forward. Your objective is to reach the eighth exit flawlessly, which means correctly identifying and reacting to eight consecutive anomalies. Fail to do so, and you'll have to start over.

The game draws inspiration from the concept of liminal spaces and the Backrooms, with its setting modeled after real Japanese metro stations like Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Station in Tokyo.
