Elden Ring: Nightreign will only be tested on consoles

FromSoftware's upcoming project will offer exclusive early access to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players. Registration opens January 10th, with testing commencing in February. This means PC gamers will unfortunately miss out on this early access opportunity.

Bandai Namco has yet to explain the exclusion of PC players from this initial test phase. However, console players selected for the test will enjoy a first look at the new game before its official release.

Elden Ring: Nightreign, a continuation of the original Elden Ring's storyline, promises a fresh and sinister experience. While console gamers get the early access privilege, PC players will need to await further announcements regarding potential future testing opportunities.

A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game message feature. Project director Junya Ishizaki clarified this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute test sessions are too short to allow for message sending and reading. He explained, "We disabled the messaging feature because there isn't enough time for sending or reading messages during sessions, which last approximately forty minutes."
