EA Says Madden and FC Might Find ‘Real Energy’ on Nintendo Switch 2

by Natalie Feb 24,2025

EA is reportedly planning to release many of its games on the Nintendo Switch 2. This was confirmed by CEO Andrew Wilson during a recent financial call. He specifically highlighted the potential success of EA's popular sports franchises, Madden and EA Sports FC, as well as The Sims, on the new console. Wilson emphasized the opportunity to reach new players with these titles on a new platform.

While the specifics remain unannounced, the expectation is that EA will leverage the Switch 2's increased power to offer more feature-rich versions of its games compared to previous Switch releases. Historically, EA has released "legacy" versions of FIFA (now EA Sports FC) on Nintendo consoles, but there's hope that future iterations will achieve greater feature parity with their PlayStation, Xbox, and PC counterparts.

The Switch 2's game lineup is steadily taking shape. Numerous third-party titles are rumored, including Civilization 7 (with Firaxis expressing interest in the rumored Joy-Con mouse mode), Greedfall 2, Test Drive Unlimited, RoboCop: Rogue City, and the highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong. Nintendo itself is developing a new Mario Kart, with further details expected in an April Nintendo Direct.
