Dungeonborne Officially Announces Shutdown Preparations

The developers behind the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, inspired by the acclaimed Dark and Darker, have officially announced the cessation of support and the impending closure of its servers. Launched with much anticipation, the game unfortunately struggled to maintain its player base, ultimately succumbing to low activity and a dearth of substantial updates within its less-than-a-year lifespan.

Although Dungeonborne's page remains visible on Steam, it has been removed from the platform's search results and can only be accessed via a direct link. While the official reasons for the shutdown remain undisclosed, it's evident that the game's critically low player count was a significant factor. From late 2024, the game barely managed to attract 200 concurrent players, with recent figures plummeting to a mere 10-15 active users.

The servers for Dungeonborne are scheduled for permanent closure on May 28, effectively drawing a close to the project's brief journey. Despite an initial surge of interest from fans of the genre, Dungeonborne will now fade into obscurity without fulfilling its potential.
