A Decade in the Making

The path to Dragon Age: The Veilguard's release has been a long one, marked by delays and shifts in development focus. Development began in 2015, but was impacted by BioWare's work on Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem. The project, initially codenamed "Joplin," was eventually revived in 2018 under the codename "Morrison," before its formal announcement as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022 and its final title reveal.
