NieR: Automata boasts a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to heavy hitters such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique YoRHa designs, but one stands out for Square Enix fans: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and stats during your first playthrough.

Where To Find the Engine Blade in NieR: Automata

The Engine Blade isn't accessible during the game's opening. You'll need to progress as 2B and revisit the factory. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) offers a quicker route. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.

Exit the access point room and follow the right path (2D camera perspective). Pass a fenced area, climb broken stairs, and navigate conveyor belts with crushing presses. Jump to the next cylinder, avoiding spider-like enemies.

Take the left door, ascending stairs while dodging exploding enemies. A railing ends mid-way, revealing an extending platform. Move forward to trigger a 2D platforming section across presses. The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest.

Beware: Exploding enemies will attack as you approach.

Engine Blade Stats in NieR: Automata

  • Attack: 160-200
  • Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3

This weapon offers four upgrade levels, culminating in a 7-hit light combo (requires finding Masamune). Unlike the inconsistent Iron Pipe, it boasts a tighter damage range for predictable combat.
