At DIGIMON CON 2025, Bandai Namco thrilled fans with exciting updates on two highly anticipated projects: the new mobile TCG, Digimon Alysion, and the upcoming console game, Digimon Story: Time Stranger. Dive into the details below to see what's in store for Digimon enthusiasts.
DIGIMON CON 2025 Announcements
Digimon’s New Mobile TCG Digimon Alysion Is In Development
During the DIGIMON CON 2025 Livestream on March 20, Bandai Namco unveiled Digimon Alysion, an exciting new mobile trading card game (TCG) that's currently in development. Riding the wave of successful mobile card games like Pokémon TCG Pocket and Marvel Snap, Digimon Alysion aims to captivate a broader audience by bringing the thrill of TCGs to mobile devices.
Digimon Alysion offers a free-to-play experience, allowing players to collect cards featuring various Digimon and characters from the franchise, construct their decks, and engage in battles with other players. What sets Digimon Alysion apart is its promise of an in-depth story mode, providing players with an engaging narrative experience in addition to the traditional and competitive gameplay modes.

Accompanying the announcement, Bandai released a trailer showcasing gameplay snippets and introducing an all-female cast for the speculated story mode. The new characters include Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh, along with a fresh Digimon called Gemmon.
While no official release window has been announced for Digimon Alysion, the presentation hinted at an upcoming closed beta test, with further details to be shared later.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger More Details Revealed

DIGIMON CON 2025 also shed more light on Digimon Story: Time Stranger. Producer Ryosuke Hara discussed the game’s backstory, introduced its main characters, and highlighted the special moves of some featured Digimon.
Hara confirmed that players can choose from three beloved Digimon from the original Digimon Adventure anime as their starters: Patamon, Gomamon, and DemiDevimon. These selections align with fan speculations based on the game's promotional artwork.
Time Stranger boasts an impressive roster of over 450 Digimon, surpassing its predecessor, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker’s Memory, which had 330 Digimon. The new trailer showcased some of these Digimon, including Angewomon, Gallantmon, and the fan-favorite Agumon.

Hara also introduced the game's protagonists: Dan Yuki and Kanan Yuki, who are secret agents for the organization ADAMAS, dedicated to uncovering mysterious threats to both humans and Digimon. The main heroine, Inori Misono, with her partner Aegiomon, will accompany players on their adventure. The game's title hints at its focus on time travel, with the protagonists navigating through different eras.
In addition to these game reveals, DIGIMON CON 2025 celebrated the Digimon Anime's 25th Anniversary with a new promotional video, unveiled new starter decks and booster packs for the Digimon Trading Card Game, and announced a new anime series, Digimon Beatbreak, set to premiere in October 2025. With these exciting developments, the Digimon franchise is poised for a bright future.
