Godzilla, the iconic kaiju, is stomping into Fortnite Chapter 6, not just as a shop item, but as a playable monster! One lucky player per match gets to control Godzilla, unleashing devastating attacks. But beware, the entire lobby will be hunting you. Here's your guide to becoming – and defeating – the King of the Monsters.

Becoming Godzilla in Fortnite

The key to becoming Godzilla is finding a randomly spawning rift. Starting January 17th, 2025, a rift will appear somewhere on the Battle Royale Island in each match. Be the first to find it and jump in!

Success means transforming into Godzilla, wielding three powerful abilities: a Roar to locate players, a Mighty Stomp Attack to send them flying, and a devastating Heat Ray. However, your reign of terror will be short-lived as the other players will band together to bring you down.

Defeating Godzilla in Fortnite

For the 99 players who didn't become Godzilla, the challenge is on! Epic Games has strategically placed weak points on Godzilla. Hitting these weak points will drop Godzilla Fragments, granting you 40 health and three dash charges – crucial for mobility during this intense battle.

The Rail Gun has returned for this event, making it a potent weapon against Godzilla. High-rarity weapons are also effective. The player who inflicts the most damage on Godzilla receives the Godzilla Medallion (with a dash ability) and the exotic Burst Quad Launcher as rewards. Even if you don't become Godzilla, defeating him is a significant achievement!
