Gaming insider Jez Corden, in a recent Xbox Two podcast, projected a 2026 release for State of Decay 3. While Undead Labs initially aimed for a 2025 launch, Corden suggests an early 2026 debut is now more likely.

Corden indicated the game's development is more advanced than publicly perceived, though specifics remain undisclosed. This news might disappoint fans, yet it's a more positive timeline than previous speculation of a 2027 release.

June's trailer showcased intense zombie gunfights and Mad Max-style vehicular combat in a post-apocalyptic setting. The narrative will unfold years after the initial apocalypse, focusing on human survivors establishing and defending settlements against the undead.

State of Decay 3 is slated for PC and Xbox Series X|S release. The last installment in the series launched in 2018.
