"Days Gone Remastered: Now with Adjustable Game Speed"

by Claire May 21,2025

With the release of Days Gone Remastered approaching, Sony's Bend Studio has shared insights into the enhanced accessibility features that will be part of the updated version of the game. One standout feature is the ability to adjust the Game Speed, allowing players to slow down the action when situations become intense. This option lets players choose from 100% down to 75%, 50%, and 25% game speed, making high-pressure moments more manageable for those who need it.

In a detailed post on the PlayStation Blog, Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, explained the purpose behind the Game Speed feature. "Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers," McAllister stated. He emphasized the importance of making the unique combat experience, especially with the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, more accessible to all players.

Beyond Game Speed, Days Gone Remastered will offer a range of other accessibility options. These include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Additionally, the auto-complete QTE feature, previously exclusive to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.

Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features like feedback and control customization will require a compatible controller.

Announced in February, Days Gone Remastered comes with several enhancements including an improved photo mode, permadeath and speedrun options, and the new accessibility features. This remastered version of the 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game set in a biker-centric world is slated for release on April 25, 2025. Owners of the PS4 version will have the opportunity to upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10.
