by Elijah Mar 25,2025

Sony has just unveiled *Days Gone Remastered* for the PlayStation 5 at the February 2025 State of Play, and it's bringing a host of exciting new features to Bend Studio's post-apocalyptic adventure. Set to launch on April 25, 2025, this enhanced version promises not only improved visuals but also gameplay innovations like permadeath mode, speedrun mode, an upgraded photo mode, and new accessibility options. The addition of VRR and PS5 Pro support ensures smoother gameplay and enhanced graphics, especially for those playing on the latest hardware. But the real highlight is the new Horde Assault arcade mode, where players take on the role of Deacon St. John and face off against even larger swarms of Freakers.

If you already own the PS4 version of *Days Gone*, you can upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10. And for those eager to see what's in store, you can check out the full first trailer below:

*Days Gone Remastered* is part of Sony's ongoing effort to bring beloved PS4 titles to the PS5 with added enhancements. It joins the ranks of other remastered hits like *The Last of Us Part I* and *Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered*. Even PC players aren't left out; those who own *Days Gone* on PC can enjoy the new modes via the $10 Broken Roads DLC, which also includes new accessibility features, DualSense support, and an enhanced photo mode.

In a recent PlayStation.Blog post, Bend Studio detailed how *Days Gone Remastered* has been optimized for the PS5, offering improved visuals in both Performance and Quality modes. Players on PS5 Pro will experience Oregon's landscapes and sounds in even greater detail, with the game also making full use of the DualSense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

New players can grab *Days Gone Remastered* on PS5 for $49.99. Pre-orders begin tomorrow, and those who pre-purchase will receive eight PSN avatars and five early in-game unlocks. For a comprehensive look at all the announcements from today's State of Play, check out our roundup here.
