Cult Classic Horror Remake Unveiled

The House of the Dead 2: Remake – A Classic Returns in Spring 2025

Get ready for a blast from the past! Forever Entertainment and MegaPixel Studio have announced a complete remake of the iconic 1998 arcade rail shooter, The House of the Dead 2. This Spring 2025 release will bring the gory zombie action to modern platforms with enhanced visuals, new environments, and exciting gameplay additions.

Originally a Sega arcade title, The House of the Dead 2 offered a unique on-rails shooting experience, distinct from contemporaries like Resident Evil. This remake promises a fresh coat of paint, updated audio, and a revitalized take on classic zombie arcade gameplay. While previous ports existed on Dreamcast, original Xbox, and Wii, this is a full-fledged remake with significant improvements.

The recently released announcement trailer showcases the modernized graphics and remastered music. Players once again step into the shoes of a secret agent, battling undead hordes to prevent a catastrophic outbreak. The remake expands upon the original with additional environments to explore, and offers both single-player and co-op modes. Gameplay options include a Classic Campaign, Boss Mode, branching pathways, and multiple endings.

Platform Availability and Release Date:

Expect The House of the Dead 2: Remake to launch on Nintendo Switch, PC (GOG and Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in Spring 2025. The game aims to deliver an authentic retro experience with high-energy music, intense action, and combo counters, all enhanced by modern visuals and an improved user interface.

The House of the Dead 2: Remake joins a wave of revived classic horror titles, following the success of Resident Evil remakes and the Clock Tower remaster. Zombie horror fans should mark their calendars for Spring 2025 and keep an eye out for further updates.
