Clash of Clans to Remove Troop Training Times in Major Update

by Ellie May 23,2025

Clash of Clans, an iconic fixture in mobile gaming, is set to undergo a significant transformation that many fans have been eagerly anticipating. Supercell, recognizing the game's age and the need for modernization, is about to introduce one of its most groundbreaking changes yet: the complete removal of troop training times. This means you'll be able to deploy your army almost instantly, speeding up the pace of battles and enhancing the overall gameplay experience.

Following the elimination of training costs in 2022, the removal of training times marks another pivotal shift in the game's mechanics. Starting today, Training Potions and Training Treats will no longer be available through in-app purchases or chest rewards. You can still obtain them from the Trader and Gold Pass for now, but it's crucial to use them before the end of the month, as they will be converted to Gems.

To help players adapt to this change, Supercell is introducing a new feature called Match Anytime. This allows you to attack a snapshot of another player's base if no real-time opponents are available. You'll earn rewards as usual, but players whose bases are used won't lose anything if defeated. This mechanic, already used in Clan Wars and Legend League attacks, will now be a standard feature.

Be on the lookout for additional changes, such as Army Donations now requiring Elixirs or Dark Elixirs. For a comprehensive overview of these updates and more, head over to the Supercell blog.
