Civilization 7's post-release roadmap revealed
Civilization VII: A Roadmap to Global Domination
Civilization VII's launch is imminent, with a release date set for February 11th. Deluxe and Founders Edition owners gain five days early access, starting February 6th. A day-one patch will also be available. The game will be playable across all major platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, including Steam Deck compatibility.
Firaxis Games and 2K have declared Civilization VII a "gold standard," signifying the completion of primary development and minimizing the likelihood of further delays.
The first DLC, "Crossroads of the World," arrives in March, split into two parts. The initial release features Great Britain and Carthage as playable civilizations, introducing Ada Lovelace as a new leader. Three weeks later, the second installment adds Simon Bolivar as a leader, along with Bulgaria and Nepal as new civilizations.
A second DLC, "Right to Rule," is slated for release in Q2 or Q3 of 2025 (April-September). This expansion will include two more leaders, four additional civilizations, and new natural wonders.
Further enhancements are planned, including new in-game events and natural wonders (like the Bermuda Triangle and Mount Everest), launching in March. Firaxis promises ongoing expansion and improvements to the gameplay experience.
