Square Enix has announced the 30th anniversary of the legendary RPG, Chrono Trigger. To mark this milestone, they've promised a series of projects launching throughout the year. While specifics remain under wraps, the announcement hints at possibilities beyond a simple game-related celebration.

This news has ignited excitement among fans who've long hoped for a modern remake or console re-release. Despite its iconic status as one of the greatest JRPGs ever created, Chrono Trigger has surprisingly never received a full remake, only a PS1 port in 1999, followed by later PC and mobile releases. A definitive modern version remains a cherished, yet elusive, goal.

While a remake remains unconfirmed, Square Enix is definitely celebrating. The centerpiece of the anniversary is a special YouTube livestream concert featuring the game's legendary soundtrack. This concert will air on March 14th at 7:00 p.m. PT and continue into the early hours of the next morning.
