Reaching Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2

Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and accessible only via a destroyed bridge, presents a significant early-game challenge in Divinity: Original Sin 2. This guide details multiple methods to overcome this obstacle.

Method 1: The Spirit Bridge

The remnants of a bridge northeast of Cloisterwood, closer to Jahan and Witch Alice, offer a path. Use Spirit Vision to reveal the broken sections. Crossing requires:

  1. Gloves of Teleportation: Teleport each party member individually.
  2. Translocation Skills: Utilize skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat. Note: Not all companions possess these.
  3. Teleporter Pyramids: Use two pyramids; one companion crosses using translocation, then the rest teleport to them.
  4. Fast Travel: A companion with translocation reaches the island, establishes a waypoint, allowing the rest to fast travel.

Method 2: The Undead Ferry

An undead ferryman northwest of Cloisterwood offers passage. However, this is a trap!

  • With Fane: Only Fane (being undead and immune to Deathfog) survives the crossing. He establishes a waypoint, allowing the rest of the party to fast travel.
  • Without Fane: Use two Teleporter Pyramids. One companion takes the ferry (dying upon arrival), the rest teleport, revive the companion, and continue. This method is less efficient than using the bridge.

Method 2 Alternative: The Undead Ferry (Without Fane)

This method requires two Teleporter Pyramids:

  1. Equip a Teleporter Pyramid on a companion.
  2. Send that companion across the ferry. They will die on the other side.
  3. Use the second Teleporter Pyramid to warp to the dead companion's location.
  4. Resurrect the companion.

Recommendation: Unless you specifically want to use the ferry for roleplaying or challenge, using the spirit bridge is generally faster and safer, especially without Fane.

Caution: Avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman unless you've saved your game. He can retaliate with a powerful Deathfog spell. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP.
