Blizzard was selling skin in Overwatch 2, but announced a free giveaway 24 hours later
Blizzard's handling of the Overwatch 2 Cyber DJ skin has ignited another controversy. Initially sold for $19.99, the skin was unexpectedly offered for free a day later to Twitch viewers watching a one-hour broadcast on February 12th.
This sparked considerable backlash from players who purchased the skin before the free giveaway was announced. The situation mirrors previous instances where Blizzard has sold cosmetic items only to later offer them free through promotions. Players are demanding refunds, citing unfair practices. While the Cyber DJ skin has been removed from the store, Blizzard remains silent on refund requests.
