Blizzard Fails to Extend Diablo 3 Event
Diablo 3's cherished "Fall of Tristram" event is set to conclude on February 1, leaving many fans wishing for an extension. However, community manager pezradar has clarified that extending the event is currently not feasible:
"I asked about Tristram and the possibility of extending it, but unfortunately [the event] is hard-coded and it's impossible to make server-side fixes."
In related news, pezradar also addressed the delay of Season 34 of Call of Light, which has disrupted weekend plans for some enthusiasts:
"I'm sorry. It's not what I was hoping for. We were notified about 24 hours before we had to adjust the time. The team needs to create new code to ensure a smooth transition between seasons after problems with the automatic scheduler that ended [last 33rd] season early in early January.
The extra time allows us to implement and test the new code, and ensure that players' progress is transferred smoothly from their accounts.
We can improve communication with players at earlier stages, and the team is aware of this for the future."
In other gaming news, Wolcen Studio has recently announced Project Pantheon, a free-to-play combat role-playing game that integrates elements of extraction shooter mechanics. The first closed alpha testing commenced on January 25 for players in Europe, with North American players set to join on February 1. Game director Andrei Cirkulete shared his vision for the game, saying, "We've blended the tension and risk-reward of an extraction shooter with the battle dynamics of combat role-playing games." The game draws inspiration from Diablo and Escape from Tarkov, aiming to bring a fresh experience to players. In Project Pantheon, players will assume the role of a messenger of Death, striving to restore order to a world in ruins.
