by Violet Feb 25,2025

Beloved Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his roles in Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and numerous other titles, has shared a moving message following a near-fatal incident. Last week, he was found "barely alive" in his Atlanta hotel room.

A video posted on a GoFundMe page, which has already raised over $174,000 for his medical expenses, reveals Johnson was in a coma. He expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of support: "I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there, and I'm grateful to each and every one of you."

Johnson, also a Washington Capitals announcer, was in Atlanta for a National Alzheimer's Foundation benefit. His absence raised concerns, leading his wife to contact the hotel. Security personnel and EMTs found him with a weak pulse.

He recounted the ordeal: "Rumors of my demise weren't exaggerated. It was very close. But I'm still here because my wife called the hotel, and my son contacted security. They found me nearly dead." He spent five days in a coma. He specifically thanked his wife, Kim, along with friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker, for establishing the GoFundMe campaign.

Johnson also acknowledged the National Alzheimer's Association for supporting his family, Ted Leonsis (Washington Capitals' parent company chairman) for a significant donation, and Bethesda for their public show of support. He expressed his deep appreciation to Bethesda, stating, "You say I'm your friend. I am. Always will be. Love you guys." Finally, he extended his gratitude to fans for their donations and support, assuring them, "I love you all. I'm not going anywhere."

He concluded with a message of hope, "It's going to be a while as I work my way back, but I'm coming back. I look forward to seeing and hearing you all then. Cheers."

Johnson's extensive voice acting credits span film, television, and video games, with a prominent focus on Bethesda titles. His recent work includes Ron Hope in Starfield. His other notable Bethesda roles include Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance (Oblivion), several Daedric Princes (Morrowind), Fawkes and Maister Burke (Fallout 3), Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II (Skyrim), and Moe Cronin (Fallout 4).
