Battledom is an upcoming strategy game now in Alpha testing

by Joshua Jan 06,2025

Indie game developer Sander Frenken has revealed that his strategy game, Battledom, is currently undergoing alpha testing. This RTS-lite title serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's popular 2020 game, Herodom. Developed over two years by the part-time developer, Battledom represents a refinement of Frenken's original vision for Herodom.

Battledom offers players dynamic RTS-style battles where units can be freely moved across the game map. Players directly target enemies and manually control siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations add a layer of tactical depth to combat.

Players use in-game currency to recruit units, initially equipped with basic weapons and no armor. However, extensive customization is available. Players can equip units with various weapons and armor pieces, each impacting stats like attack power, range, accuracy, and defense.

Quarry with stones in buckets and an elevator lifting a bucket of stoneResource gathering and crafting are key elements. Players collect resources such as wood, leather, and coal to craft items at various village workshops, including the blacksmith and magician.

Frenken's previous title, Herodom, enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating, featuring over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks new character customization options, along with farm additions.

iOS users can participate in the Battledom alpha test via TestFlight. For updates and news, follow Sander Frenken on X (formerly Twitter) or Reddit. Additional games by Frenken are available on the App Store.
