Polytopia Launches Weekly Challenges Mode

The Battle of Polytopia shakes up competitive gameplay with its new Weekly Challenges feature, offering players a fresh way to test their strategic prowess in this acclaimed 4X strategy title.

It Was Random Before

While traditional gameplay thrived on randomness – with varied enemies, unpredictable resources, and procedurally generated maps – this free update introduces structured competitive elements.

Each week challenges all players with identical conditions: the same map, identical tribes, and uniform gameplay rules. The objective? Achieve the highest possible score within just 20 turns. With a daily attempt limit and maximum of seven tries weekly, every move counts.

This innovative feature even unlocks tribes you might not own yet. Of Polytopia's 16 available tribes (four base game tribes and twelve premium options priced $1-4), Weekly Challenges temporarily grants access to rotating selections - leveling the playing field for all competitors.

Will Weekly Challenges Revolutionize Polytopia?

This new competitive system introduces progressive league rankings. All players begin in Entry League, advancing or descending based on weekly performance:

  • Top third performers advance
  • Bottom third get demoted
  • Middle group maintains position

AI difficulty escalates through the leagues - from Easy mode in Entry League to formidable Crazy-difficulty bots in Gold tier. While inactive players avoid demotion, their rankings adjust dynamically based on others' performances.
