Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is now undergoing stress testing. While some Sony console players received early access, developers advise reinstalling the game for a clean experience if you're not participating in the test.

Patch 8 introduces several key improvements. A highly anticipated feature is cross-platform play, enabling console and PC players to team up. Players can invite friends from different platforms provided they have linked Larian accounts. Remarkably, even modded games can support cross-play, subject to limitations: all mods must be available across PC, Mac, and consoles, and the host's lobby cannot exceed ten mods.

Multiplayer functionality receives a significant boost with the addition of split-screen co-op on Xbox Series S, previously unavailable on this console.

Further enhancements include a fully customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding depth and variety to gameplay. Larian has also implemented bug fixes and balance adjustments, although some issues may persist. A comprehensive changelog for the stress test is accessible on the game's official website.
