Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator Global Announces EOS

Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's global server is shutting down. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games announced the end of service (EOS) for the global version of their RPG, just over a year after its January 2024 launch. The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, remains operational and is even preparing for its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025.

Atelier Resleriana EOS Date:

The global server closure is ironically scheduled for March 28th, 2025—the same month the Japanese version celebrates its 1.5th anniversary. Global players will conclude their journey at Chapter 21 (Part 1), while Japanese players progress to Chapter 22 (Part 2).

In-game purchases are disabled, but remaining Lodestar Gems can be used until the shutdown. Koei Tecmo promises continued content and events leading up to the closure. The global version's first anniversary on January 25th, 2025, is now bittersweet.

Reasons for Shutdown:

Developers cited an inability to maintain satisfactory player standards as the reason for the global server closure. The game struggled to gain traction, facing criticism almost immediately after launch. Players voiced concerns about the gacha system, power creep, and overall gameplay and monetization, ultimately contributing to the decision to shut down the global version.

The game is still available on the Google Play Store for those wishing to play before the servers close. For those seeking a new mobile gaming experience, consider checking out the current Sky: Children of the Light Lunar New Year 2025 event, Days of Fortune.
