Assassin's Creed Shadows' Release Date Shifted to March 20, 2025

Ubisoft has announced another delay for the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed Shadows, pushing the release date back to March 20, 2025. Initially slated for a February 14, 2025 release, this marks a five-week postponement from the previously announced date.

The publisher cites the need to integrate player feedback as the reason for this latest delay. This contrasts with the first delay, announced in September 2024, which shifted the launch from November 15, 2024 to February 14, 2025, and was attributed to development challenges related to historical accuracy.

In a statement, Marc-Alexis Coté, Vice President and Executive Producer of the Assassin's Creed franchise, emphasized Ubisoft's commitment to delivering a high-quality experience, highlighting the ongoing communication with players as a key factor in the decision. He reiterated that the extra time will allow for further refinement and polishing of the game.

Following the September delay, Ubisoft offered pre-order refunds and free access to the game's first expansion to appease disappointed fans. Whether similar compensation will be offered for this shorter delay remains unannounced.

This latest postponement might also be connected to Ubisoft's internal investigation into its development practices, launched to enhance player focus and address recent financial setbacks. Prioritizing player feedback through this delay could be a direct outcome of this initiative.
