The God Of War, Ares, Has Arrived

The sequel to the acclaimed roguelike, Hades II, has launched its second major patch, The Warsong Update. This update introduces protagonist Melinoë to the "Final Confrontation" beyond the Guardian of Olympus and brings the fierce god of war, Ares, into the mix. Ares' Boons are sure to add a thrilling edge to your gameplay.

In addition to Ares, the update brings a host of new features, including a new animal familiar, fresh adversaries to overcome, and an enhanced Altar of Ashes with new art and Arcana effects. Players can now enjoy over 2,000 new voice lines and encounter new events. When you need a break from the dungeon crawling, relax in the Crossroads, enjoy new soundtracks, or even sing a melodic duet with Artemis.

Planning Ahead For The Third Major Update

Fresh off the release of The Warsong, developer Supergiant Games is already looking ahead to the third major update, expected "some months from now," according to their Steam news post. Hades II will remain in Early Access as the team continues to refine the game. While the full release date remains under wraps, the core structures of the Underworld and Surface routes are now essentially complete, with the focus shifting to enriching the existing content.

Following The Warsong Update's post-launch patches, Supergiant Games plans to focus on:

• Hidden Aspects: The Nocturnal Arms hold undiscovered secrets that players will eventually unlock and wield.
• Enhanced Guardians: Boss battles will be fine-tuned to offer more challenging and surprising encounters.
• Expanded Story: Further development of Melinoë’s narrative and the inter-character relationships and subplots.
