"Now You See Me 3 Renamed; Sequel Confirmed"

by Elijah Apr 19,2025

Big news for fans of the Now You See Me franchise: the highly anticipated third installment has been officially titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, and there's more excitement on the horizon with Now You See Me 4 already in development.

This thrilling announcement was made by Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, during a presentation at CinemaCon. He also confirmed that Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is set to hit theaters on November 14, 2025, as previously announced.

Director Ruben Fleischer, who is helming the third film, has also signed on to develop and direct the fourth installment of this action-packed heist series. The franchise has already amassed an impressive $700 million at the global box office.

The first two films featured a stellar cast including Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman, among others. The third film introduces a new generation of illusionists, including Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt, with Rosamund Pike also joining the ensemble.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t marks a reunion for Fleischer with Eisenberg and Harrelson, who previously worked together on Fleischer's debut film Zombieland. Fleischer's recent successes include Uncharted, which grossed over $400 million worldwide, and Venom, which earned over $850 million globally.

Bobby Cohen, the original developer and producer of the series, will return to produce the new films alongside Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout. Meredith Wieck will oversee the project for Lionsgate.

Adam Fogelson praised Fleischer's work, saying, "Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and are thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us."

Fleischer expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course, I want to keep it going."

Previous reviews from IGN have been mixed. The original Now You See Me received a 6.3/10, with the review noting, "Now You See Me seemed so promising, but it squanders its cool cast and nifty premise on smarmy, shallow characters and a flimsy, nonsensical plot." Now You See Me 2 fared slightly worse with a 6.2/10, described as, "Now You See Me 2 isn't the worst magic act in town, but it's all flash and no substance."

With new films on the way and a dedicated team behind them, fans of the Now You See Me series have plenty to look forward to.
