طرنيب Tarneeb

Blackjack, or Tarneeb Blackjack as it's known across the Arab world, particularly in the Levant, is a popular card game. In the Arab Gulf states, it's called "rule." The goal is to win consecutive Tarneeb rounds. Four players participate, forming two teams of two. Teams continue playing until the end of the rounds, at which point a winner is declared.

Using a standard 52-card deck (no Jokers), gameplay proceeds clockwise, starting with the player to the left of the dealer. The game involves four players, with opposing pairs forming teams.

Cards are initially dealt clockwise from the dealer.

Bidding starts with a minimum bid of 7, increasing up to 13 ("Cabot/livers"). Bidding proceeds clockwise from the dealer, with the highest bidder choosing the Tarneeb.

If a bid isn't met, the difference is calculated and awarded to the opposing team. For example, if a player bids 10 but only collects 9, the difference (1) is added to the opposing team's score.

If one team's score exceeds the other by 5 or more, the game continues until a predetermined score is reached.

The game concludes when one team reaches either 61 or 31 points, depending on the agreement made before the game begins.
